The much-anticipated single-player action game, Lost Soul Aside, has been delayed by three months, shifting its release from May 30 to August 29, 2025, as announced by its developer, Ultizero Games. After nearly a decade in development, the game was poised for launch on PC and PlayStation 5 next month. However, the developer decided to postpone the release to late August to ensure a more polished final product.

"We are truly grateful for the positive response we've received from players all over the world since we announced Lost Soul Aside," Ultizero Games stated. "We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience. To match the standards Ultizero Games have set for ourselves, we are going to take some additional time to polish the game. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29, 2025. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our fans waiting for the launch."

Originally a passion project of solo developer Yang Bing, Lost Soul Aside has evolved into a major title published by Sony under their China Hero Project. Bing, now the founder and CEO of the Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games, has seen the game grow from a solo vision to a highly anticipated release. The hype around the game has been building, especially after its trailer reveal at Sony's State of Play broadcast, with many praising Lost Soul Aside as a thrilling blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat. This excitement was sparked when Yang Bing's initial reveal video went viral back in 2016.

The protagonist, Kesar, wields a versatile shape-shifting weapon that allows players to switch playstyles, adding depth to the gameplay. Accompanying Kesar is a dragon-like companion named Arena, who can summon abilities to assist in combat. Drawing inspiration from its predecessors, Lost Soul Aside focuses on aerial dodging, precision timing, combos, and countering, all set within large-scale boss fights. The game combines a sci-fi narrative with contemporary aesthetics, taking players on a journey across multiple dimensions. While the trailers leave much of the story shrouded in mystery, Bing describes Kesar's adventure as one of "redemption and discovery."

Recently, IGN had the chance to sit down with Yang Bing to delve into the long and challenging development journey of Lost Soul Aside, highlighting the evolution from a single creator's vision to a major gaming title.
