ASUS Prime RTX 50 Series Cards Return to MSRP

by Joseph Dec 05,2025

Select Asus Prime RTX 50 series graphics cards have returned to their original launch prices on Amazon. In fact, the RTX 5070 model is now discounted below MSRP. If you own an RTX 30-series or older card, upgrading now is a smart move. It's uncertain how long inventory or pricing will remain stable, especially with tariffs pushing up costs across the board. Additionally, older RTX 40-series cards are less available and more expensive, so opting for a previous-generation model isn't the cost-effective option it once was.

The Asus Prime series represents Asus' budget-friendly GPU lineup. It delivers exceptional value by offering performance on par with higher-end models, minus flashy RGB lighting, bulky heatsinks that take up extra space, or marginal overclocks. The 2.5-slot design is slimmer than typical triple-fan coolers (making it suitable for small form factor PCs), yet it outperforms dual-fan designs found in other budget models. A triple-fan cooler doesn't need to work as hard as a dual-fan solution to maintain low temperatures, allowing for quieter operation at lower fan speeds.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Review by Jacqueline Thomas

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 presents a complex picture. It delivers on its promise of smooth 1440p gaming at high frame rates. However, it doesn't significantly outperform the RTX 4070 Super or other graphics cards in this price segment. The inclusion of Multi Frame Generation is a welcome feature for high-refresh monitor users, but by itself, it doesn't justify an upgrade."

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU Review by Jacqueline Thomas

"Priced at $749, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti stands out as the best 4K graphics card for most users, offering significantly better value than the RTX 5080 or 5090. Throughout testing, this GPU excelled at 4K resolution, coming close to the performance of far more expensive cards. That's before factoring in multi-frame generation, which further boosts frame rates—though with a slight increase in latency."

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE Review by Jacqueline Thomas

"If you already use a high-end graphics card from recent years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn't offer a compelling reason to upgrade—its performance edge over the RTX 4080 is modest, though DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation does enhance visuals in supported games. However, for gamers with older hardware seeking a significant performance leap, the RTX 5080 delivers—especially if you're keen on leveraging Nvidia's AI features."
