Morikomori Life is now officially available on Android and iOS, though currently limited to the Japanese market. This release is being handled by Realfun Studio. Interestingly, the game had a previous launch in China published by Tencent's Level Infinite, but that version was discontinued approximately a year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back
The game's standout feature is its visual presentation. The developers have masterfully captured a cozy atmosphere with anime-inspired, specifically Ghibli-esque, artistry. This isn't generic AI-generated art; the scenes genuinely look like stills taken directly from a Studio Ghibli film.
In terms of story, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese woman. Her journey begins when she receives a cryptic letter from her grandmother, inviting her back to the village of Komori, the place of her childhood memories.
From there, you embark on a journey to rediscover the simple pleasures of a peaceful life. The 3D toon-shaded graphics make the Japanese rural landscapes feel inviting and authentically rustic.
Don't just take our word for it—see the enchanting world for yourself. Check out these Morikomori Life trailers below to witness the visual charm firsthand!
Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living
This is a true slice-of-life simulation. Gameplay revolves around timeless rural activities: farming, cooking, fishing, foraging, and even constructing your own home. You can gather resources by chopping wood, mining for ore, and discovering rare materials during your explorations.
As your collection of resources grows, so do your options for upgrading your house and enhancing your daily routine. Customize Kaon's appearance to your liking, befriend villagers, prepare meals with foraged ingredients, and assist locals with various tasks.
Morikomori Life offers deep character customization to express your personal style. An open-world structure provides the freedom to wander and stumble upon delightful, unexpected moments throughout the village.
It is currently live on the Google Play Store in Japan. There has been no official announcement yet regarding a global release date.
