REPO Developers Announce Future Content Roadmap
The team behind REPO has outlined their development plans, introducing an innovative "duck bucket" mechanic to contain the game's infamous avian threat. Discover what's coming next and how Lethal Company's creator views this rising horror title.
First Major Update Preview
Duck Containment System Added
The inaugural update introduces both a new environment and the duck containment solution. Semiwork Studios unveiled these developments through a YouTube presentation on March 15th.
This cooperative horror experience challenges squads of six to carefully extract items from terrifying environments. Teams must beware the Apex Predator - a seemingly harmless yellow duck that morphs into a lethal creature when disturbed, attacking players for ten seconds before reverting.
The forthcoming duck bucket provides a tactical solution to neutralize this threat, preventing accidental activation by teammates. Alongside this key addition, the update brings enhanced facial animations and various gameplay refinements.
Experimental Museum Environment Coming
Semiwork Studios teases "The Museum," a new parkour-focused level featuring improved extraction zone visuals. Boundary markers will clearly indicate valid extraction areas.
Public matchmaking functionality remains in development, with the team considering player feedback about lobby options. "While most players support public/private matchmaking with kick functionality, implementing this requires substantial backend work - a new challenge for our team," developers explained.
The studio acknowledges the technical complexity may delay this feature's release timeline.
Industry Feedback
Lethal Company creator Zeekers offered constructive criticism of REPO's design elements in a March 15 social media post, praising the game's cooperative mechanics while suggesting potential improvements.
The viral horror title has drawn frequent comparisons to Lethal Company since its February launch. Zeekers noted: "The cooperative movement mechanics in tight spaces create fantastic emergent comedy, though gameplay mechanics could be better communicated and sound design adjusted."
Addressing concerns about enemy detection, Zeekers added: "Tutorial systems explaining enemy behaviors would benefit new players - though this seems likely planned."
Currently the second highest-selling Steam title behind Counter-Strike 2, REPO has achieved remarkable success with over 230,000 concurrent players. The PC-exclusive horror title approaches the peak player counts established by Lethal Company. Stay updated with all REPO developments through our news coverage.
