WoW: Midnight Unveils Adaptable Housing Options

by Charlotte May 04,2025

Blizzard has unveiled exciting details about the upcoming in-game housing system for World of Warcraft: Midnight. Although this expansion is set to launch after The War Within as part of the Worldsoul saga, early previews indicate a level of customization that exceeds many players' expectations.

A recent developer blog showcased in-game videos demonstrating the furniture placement mechanics. The system uses a grid with automatic snapping to align items, and players can adorn larger pieces like shelves or tables with smaller accessories that remain attached during movement.

The housing system offers two distinct modes: a Basic Mode for easy organization and an Advanced Mode tailored for creative builders. In Advanced Mode, players have the freedom to rotate objects on all three axes and stack them in innovative ways, allowing for the creation of intricate and visually appealing interiors.

A standout feature is the ability to scale objects, which caters to the varying sizes of characters. This means gnomes can craft cozier spaces, while larger races like tauren can design more expansive layouts. Additionally, some furniture pieces designed specifically for the housing system will allow for recoloring, although this feature might not be available for legacy assets.

As the release of Midnight is still months away, Blizzard is keeping the excitement alive by regularly teasing new content, ensuring that players stay engaged and eagerly anticipate the future updates to the game.
