Following a minor leak last week, EA has officially unveiled the title of its upcoming Star Wars game: Star Wars: Zero Company. The game is being crafted by the newly-formed studio Bit Reactor, with collaborative support from Lucasfilm Games and Respawn. The first and only official artwork for Zero Company has been released, stirring excitement among fans.
While details about Star Wars: Zero Company are still scarce, we do know it will be a "single-player turn-based tactics game". Fortunately, eager fans won't have to wait long for more information. EA has scheduled a first look at the game during Star Wars Celebration in Japan on April 19.
Bit Reactor, established in 2022, is a strategy game studio composed of industry veterans from acclaimed titles such as XCOM, Civilization, Gears of War, and Elder Scrolls Online. Although it was known that Bit Reactor was developing a Star Wars game alongside Respawn, this is the first time concrete details have been shared about the project.
The extent of Respawn's involvement with Star Wars: Zero Company remains somewhat ambiguous. Respawn has faced numerous challenges recently, including the cancellation of its own Star Wars FPS game a year ago, mass layoffs at EA, and the termination of another multiplayer FPS project just last month.
Further details about Star Wars: Zero Company will be unveiled at a live panel on Saturday, April 19, at 4:30pm local time in Japan. For those in the U.S., be prepared to set your alarms for 12:30am PT or 3:30am ET to catch the reveal live.
