Fix Slow Marvel Rivals Compilation on Launch

by Madison Feb 02,2025

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch, significantly impacting gameplay. This guide offers a solution to this frustrating issue.

Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals

Game loading times can vary, but Marvel Rivals' lengthy shader compilation (often several minutes) is proving problematic for PC players. Shaders are crucial for proper 3D rendering, and incorrect installation can lead to various issues. While the game may appear to be functioning correctly, this slow compilation is a common complaint.

A community-discovered workaround effectively resolves this:

  1. Access Nvidia Control Panel: Locate and open your Nvidia control panel.
  2. Adjust Shader Cache Size: Navigate to the global settings and find the Shader Cache Size option.
  3. Set Lower Value: Set the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. Options are typically limited to 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest option to your VRAM capacity.

This adjustment significantly reduces shader compilation time, often to just a few seconds, and also eliminates "Out of VRAM memory" errors.

While a permanent fix from NetEase is awaited, this method provides a practical solution to avoid lengthy loading times. Until an official patch is released, this workaround is recommended.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
