Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced yet another delay, with its new release window now set for October 2025. Fans of the highly anticipated RPG have been following the game’s long and winding development journey closely, and this latest update comes directly from Paradox Interactive.
Paradox Prioritizing Quality: Bug Fixes, Stability, and Performance
In a recent update shared via the game’s official Twitter (X) account on March 26, the team confirmed the new release date and provided insight into the current state of development. Executive Producer Marco Behrmann stated in the accompanying video update: “The status of the game right now is that the game is done. We are currently working on bug fixing, stability, and performance so we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
This focus on polish and optimization marks the final stretch for the development team as they work toward a smooth and immersive launch. In line with this effort, Paradox has decided to pause its ongoing Dev Diary series temporarily, allowing the developers to fully dedicate their time to improving the game's core performance and addressing technical issues before release.
A Long Road to Release: Bloodlines 2’s Development Timeline
Bloodlines 2 was first announced in March 2019 with an initial planned release date of March 2020. Originally developed by Hardsuit Labs, the project faced significant internal challenges. By October 2019, the game was delayed without a specific new date, and in February 2021, Paradox announced that Hardsuit Labs would no longer be involved. The development baton was then passed to The Chinese Room, known for their work on titles like *Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture* and *A Short Hike*.
Under The Chinese Room’s leadership, the game was rescheduled multiple times—first targeting a late 2024 release, then moved to early 2025, and now finally landing in October 2025. Despite the delays, excitement remains high among fans eager to dive into the rich narrative-driven world of *Vampire: The Masquerade*.
