"Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Nears 2 Million Sales, Boosts Embracer"

Embracer has celebrated the remarkable success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, announcing that the game is approaching the 2 million sales mark. Launched on February 4 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel from developer Warhorse Studios sold an impressive 1 million copies within just one day of its release. Ten days later, the sales figure has nearly doubled, showcasing the game's strong market performance.

Embracer highlighted that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. This is a significant increase compared to the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which reached a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago. It's important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for the sequel is likely higher, considering its availability on consoles as well, though Sony and Microsoft do not disclose player numbers.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, praised the game's initial success in terms of both player and critic reception, as well as its commercial performance. Lars Wingefors, CEO of Embracer, commended the dedication and hard work of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver. He expressed confidence that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, thanks to its high quality, immersive gameplay, and broad appeal. Wingefors also mentioned that Warhorse Studios has planned updates and new content for the next 12 months, ensuring a continuously evolving experience for the community.

In addition to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer is gearing up for the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on its upcoming titles, with 10 triple-A games scheduled for release over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these games are being developed internally, while two are from external studios.

For FY 2025/26, Embracer has planned the release of two triple-A games towards the end of the financial year. The lineup also includes several mid-size releases such as Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console version), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, along with other mid-sized games yet to be announced.

Despite recent challenges, including layoffs and the sale of several studios like Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer continues to own Metro developer 4A Games, which is currently working on a new game in the series.
