Wingspan Asia Expansion Launches This Year: New Cards and Modes

The highly anticipated Wingspan Asia Expansion is set to launch later this year, bringing a delightful array of new content to the strategy video game. While the exact release date remains under wraps, fans can look forward to a rich assortment of new birds, an exciting game mode, and captivating new sceneries from across Asia.

Here Are the Full Details on Wingspan Asia Expansion

The upcoming expansion of Wingspan promises to introduce stunning new birds from regions such as India, China, and Japan. Each bird comes with unique abilities and interesting trivia, enhancing the depth of gameplay. In addition to the avian additions, the expansion will include 13 new bonus cards, with two specifically tailored for Automa, making solo play even more engaging.

Visually, the expansion will feature four new backgrounds inspired by the diverse landscapes of Asia, along with eight new player portraits that reflect the rich cultural influences of the region. The Wingspan: Asia Expansion also introduces the Duet Mode, offering an intense one-on-one experience. Players will compete on a special Duet Map, vying for habitat spaces and striving to meet different end-of-round goals.

Enhancing the auditory experience, the expansion will include four new relaxing music tracks composed by Paweł Górniak, perfectly complementing your bird-watching and strategic gameplay.

Tried the Game Yet?

Wingspan, originally a hit card-based board game by Elizabeth Hargrave, was adapted into a digital format and released on PC in 2020, followed by mobile versions in 2021. In the game, players work to attract the best birds to their wildlife preserve, creating powerful combinations with each new addition. With a limited number of turns, you'll strategize to balance food, egg-laying, and card draws, mimicking the behaviors of real birds such as hunting hawks, fishing pelicans, and flocking geese.

While you await the Wingspan: Asia Expansion, you can explore the existing European and Oceania expansions by downloading the game from the Google Play Store.
