Shogun Showdown, a dynamic roguelike combat deckbuilder, is now available in the Crunchyroll Game Vault. It debuted in September 2024 for PC and consoles.
Crafted by Roboatino and published by Goblinz Studio and Gamera Games for other platforms, the game gained popularity for its innovative approach to turn-based combat.
What Defines Gameplay in Shogun Showdown?
Shogun Showdown demands strategic foresight before every move. The battlefield is a single lane filled with lethal threats.
You embody a samurai tasked with defeating a corrupt shogun who has devastated the world and unleashed dark forces.
Combat unfolds on a linear track, typically spanning 4 to 12 spaces. Players manage queued actions, execute attacks, adjust positions, and avoid being trapped by ashigaru warriors.
Every decision in Shogun Showdown counts, as you can queue only three attacks or actions at a time. Procedurally generated runs ensure varied obstacles, enemies, and layouts each time.
The game features pixel art steeped in feudal Japanese aesthetics. Curious? Check out the trailer below!
