Dying Light 2 adds free Tower Raid mode

Techland continues to innovate with Dying Light 2 by launching Tower Raid - a dynamic, roguelite-inspired game mode that delivers unpredictable challenges and intense survival gameplay. After extensive testing last year, this long-awaited mode officially joins the game, providing players with a completely new way to experience the infected world.

In this mode, players won't control protagonist Aiden Caldwell. Instead, they'll choose from four distinct warrior archetypes: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist - each with unique abilities that encourage diverse playstyles and cooperative strategies. For those seeking maximum difficulty, Tower Raid supports smaller teams or even solo runs against the tower's dangers.

The mode offers three difficulty levels (Quick, Normal, and Elite) that determine the challenge intensity and session length. Each run features procedurally generated levels, ensuring no two tower ascents are identical. With randomized floor layouts and ever-changing enemy encounters, players must constantly adapt to survive.

Techland introduces a new progression system to maintain engagement - every failed attempt unlocks new abilities and weapons, gradually improving future runs. Deep within the tower, players encounter Sola, a mysterious merchant offering rare rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol for accomplished survivors.

While preparing for Dying Light: The Beast's upcoming release, Techland remains dedicated to enhancing Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Planned updates include refined co-op mechanics, improved matchmaking, expanded community map integration, additional Tower Raid characters, new melee/ranged weapons, a completely new weapon class, prologue improvements, and major graphical/technical optimizations.
