While the global launch of *Sonic Rumble* is still on the horizon, set for May 8th, the game is already gearing up for its first exciting crossover event. This isn't your typical crossover, as it brings together iconic characters from Sega's rich gaming history, including Altered Beast, Fantasy Zone, and Super Monkey Ball.
Interestingly, this crossover event will kick off before the worldwide release, accessible to those in regions where *Sonic Rumble* is currently in soft launch. From now until May 7th, players can claim the Werewolf character from Altered Beast absolutely free.
For those who subscribe to the Sega Star Event Pass, there are even more treats in store. You'll gain access to the Weredragon from Altered Beast, along with Sega's pioneering mascot, Opa-Opa, from the classic arcade game Fantasy Zone.
**Lucky you** But that's not all! Additional characters like Upa-Upa and the Werebear will be available for purchase in the in-game Ring Shop. Meanwhile, fans of Super Monkey Ball can snag AiAi and MeeMee from the Red Star Ring Shop.
It's quite unique to see such an event occur before a game's official release, but for those fortunate enough to participate during the soft launch, this is a golden opportunity to get your hands on these legendary characters.
