Netflix has unveiled the thrilling trailer for Electric State, the much-anticipated sci-fi epic brought to you by the visionary directors Anthony and Joe Russo, renowned for their work on Avengers: Endgame. The trailer introduces us to an enthralling narrative, spotlighting Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role in Stranger Things, as a determined young protagonist, and Chris Pratt, famed for Guardians of the Galaxy, as a mysterious drifter.
Set in a bleak future following a devastating technological collapse, Electric State chronicles the harrowing journey of its heroine across a ravaged American frontier in her quest to find her missing brother. Accompanying her is a charming yellow robot, injecting a note of levity into the otherwise somber tale. As they traverse this broken landscape, they cross paths with a secretive wanderer whose hidden knowledge could be pivotal in piecing together the enigma of their dystopian world. Drawing inspiration from the imaginative graphic novels of Simon Stålenhag, this film weaves a tale rich with emotion and suspense.
The stellar cast is rounded out by Woody Harrelson from Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Anthony Mackie of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ke Huy Quan from Everything Everywhere All at Once, Billy Bob Thornton known for Goliath, and Giancarlo Esposito of Better Call Saul. With a script penned by the talented duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who brought us Avengers: Infinity War, Electric State is set to enthrall audiences upon its release on March 14, 2025.
