Rockstar, the renowned developers behind the GTA series, have surprised fans with an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update marks a significant refresh for the beloved game, available exclusively for mobile users.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition has been enhanced with new language options and a patch that primarily focuses on stability improvements and bug fixes. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to streamline the gaming experience.
The update introduces Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users on supported devices, alongside an updated app icon and enhanced haptic feedback for both Android and iOS platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved, including the previously unpickable locker in the mission 'That Bitch', the progression halt in 'Weed Killer' due to premature window breaking, and the sinking police cars in 'The Rumble'. Furthermore, the update addresses instances where enemies would not engage Jimmy in combat, enhancing the gameplay dynamics. Crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu have also been fixed.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The gaming community has long clamored for Bully 2, yet Rockstar's focus has shifted to other projects. Rumors suggest that a sequel was in development during the 2010s but was ultimately shelved to prioritize Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially given the departure of many original developers from Rockstar.
While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it offers a significant upgrade for mobile players. For those new to the series, Bully provides a unique schoolyard sandbox experience. Players assume the role of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old troublemaker navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy, complete with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
Interested players can explore Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store, priced at €7.99, with full gamepad support.
