PS5 Pro Hardware Specifications Leaked
Sony previously confirmed the PS5 Pro will feature Tempest 3D Audio technology for immersive soundscapes and enhanced DualSense controller haptics. The console introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-powered visual enhancement system, and maintains backward compatibility through PS5 Pro Game Boost for PS4 titles.
Ahead of Thursday's official launch, early adopters have shared technical details about the new hardware. While awaiting Sony's official specifications, these reports suggest significant improvements:
Digital Foundry's analysis indicates the PS5 Pro utilizes an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor paired with RDNA graphics architecture, achieving 16.7 teraflops of computing power - a notable increase over the base PS5's 10.23 teraflops. Earlier rumors suggest the upgraded GPU delivers 67% more performance than its predecessor, alongside 28% faster memory resulting in 45% quicker rendering speeds.
According to Digital Foundry's findings, the PS5 Pro operates within a 5°C to 35°C temperature range and features 2TB of custom SSD storage. Connectivity includes USB Type-A and Type-C ports, a disc drive slot, and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
