The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Announced
Official Livestream Reveal
After months of swirling rumors and eager anticipation, Bethesda has officially announced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The confirmation came via a tweet from Bethesda on April 21, setting the stage for a detailed reveal during a livestream.
The livestream is scheduled for April 22 at 11 AM ET / 8 AM PT / 4 PM BST, and will be broadcast on Bethesda’s official YouTube and Twitch channels. Here's when you can catch the stream in your region:
First Released in 2006
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, developed by Bethesda Game Studios and co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K Games, was originally slated to be a launch title for the Xbox 360 in late 2005. However, due to unforeseen development delays, the game was released for Xbox 360 and PC in March 2006.
A mobile version, developed by Superscape and published by Vir2L Studios, followed in May 2006. The PlayStation 3 version hit North American shelves in March 2007, and Europe in April 2007. Plans for a PSP version were shelved, but several bundled editions paired Oblivion with titles like Fallout 3 and BioShock.
Recent leaks from developer Virtuos’ website have stirred excitement with promotional art and comparisons between the original and the remastered Oblivion. The remastered version is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (with Game Pass availability), and PC.
Rumors also suggest a Deluxe Edition that could include bonus weapons and a horse armor DLC pack. While these details remain unconfirmed, fans won't have to wait long for official information as Bethesda gears up for the livestream reveal of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
