In NieR: Automata, players have a vast array of crafting materials to gather for upgrading weapons and pods. While many of these materials become more accessible as you progress, securing them early on can significantly boost your character's strength.

One particularly elusive crafting material is Machine Arms. Despite their name suggesting they might be common, these items are challenging to come by, especially early in the game. Here's where you can focus your efforts to find them.

Where To Farm Machine Arms In NieR: Automata

Machine Arms can potentially drop from any small machine enemy you defeat. However, the drop rate is significantly influenced by the enemy's level; lower-level enemies offer a slimmer chance of dropping Machine Arms, making them rare at the start of the game. If you're determined to get them early, you'll need to increase your kill count.

A prime farming spot becomes available after Chapter 4, during your first encounter with Adam. The pit where this battle takes place continuously spawns enemies, including numerous small machines every few seconds. To reach this location, fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point and navigate deeper into the ruins.

Inside the pit, as you destroy enemies, new ones will quickly take their place. Although the level of these machines isn't high, thus keeping the drop rate for Machine Arms low, the constant spawn rate makes this the most efficient early-game farming method. It's also an excellent spot for farming Titanium Alloy.

To slightly enhance your drop rates, consider equipping a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip.

In the final playthrough, while controlling A2 during the main storyline, you'll face a decision regarding Pascal's memories after the robots in the village are killed. Choosing to erase Pascal's memories will lead him back to the village, where he'll become a merchant available until the game's end. Among the items Pascal sells are Machine Arms. His full inventory includes:
