Monster Hunter Wilds Patch 1.000.05.00 Fixes Quest Blockers, Among Other Things — but There Are No Performance Improvements Yet

by Gabriel Apr 20,2025

Capcom has recently released Monster Hunter Wilds hotfix 1.000.05.00 for all platforms, bringing significant improvements and fixes to enhance the gaming experience. While this update focuses on removing progression blockers and addressing various bugs, it does not include performance enhancements, as noted in the patch notes below.

Despite its impressive launch, Monster Hunter Wilds currently holds a 'mixed' user review rating on Steam, primarily due to performance issues on PC. However, the game's success is undeniable, having sold an astonishing 8 million copies within just three days, making it the fastest-selling Capcom game to date. It also achieved a peak concurrent player count of 1,384,608 on Steam, surpassing records set by Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Elden Ring, and dwarfing the peak of 334,684 set by Monster Hunter: World.

Looking ahead, a title update expected in early April will introduce a new endgame area and additional monster hunting content, promising more adventures for players.

For those starting their journey in Monster Hunter Wilds, here are some helpful resources: a guide on what the game doesn’t explicitly tell you, a comprehensive overview of all 14 weapon types, an ongoing walkthrough, a multiplayer guide for playing with friends, and instructions on transferring your beta character to the full game.

IGN’s review of Monster Hunter Wilds awarded it an 8/10, praising its refinement of the series' mechanics and enjoyable combat, though noting a lack of challenge.
