Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. This exciting news was announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. The announcement confirms months of speculation about the return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter, joined by her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015 with the premiere of the character's first season on Netflix. Following two more seasons and the team-up series The Defenders, fans worried they might not see Ritter in the role again as Netflix's era of original Marvel programming came to an end.
However, in 2021, Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. With Charlie Cox's return in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, anticipation grew for other Netflix heroes to make their MCU debut. Given the pivotal role of The Punisher in Season 1, it's fitting that Ritter is set to return in Season 2.
Ritter last portrayed Jessica Jones in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at further adventures for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
