KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Shutdown - Offline Version in the Works?

Today marks the end of an era as KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global shuts down its servers on the 30th of January. This marks the third consecutive day we're discussing the end-of-service (EOS) of another beloved game. As we bid farewell, let's reflect on the journey of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days and look at what's next for its developers and fans.

How Long Did This One Last?

Originally developed by Sumzap and first published by Nexon before transitioning to Sesisoft, KonoSuba: Fantastic Days was indeed a delightful game. Despite its charm, the global version only lasted 3.5 years, while its Japanese counterpart enjoyed a robust 5-year run. This is quite a respectable duration for an anime-based gacha game, especially considering the declining revenue in recent times.

The developers have now shifted their focus to their new Jujutsu Kaisen gacha game, known as Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade. They made sure to keep the game alive until the very end, providing fans with voiced story updates and even releasing a final song just three weeks before the shutdown.

In December, a farewell livestream was held, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, which added a special touch to the game's goodbye. The Japanese version went the extra mile by archiving the entire main story on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to relive Kazuma and his quirky crew's adventures at any time. Additionally, an offline version was made available, offering access to the game's story, voicelines, and character collection.

Sadly, the global version of KonoSuba: Fantastic Days won't be getting an offline mode or a dedicated YouTube channel. However, fans can still dive into the Japanese YouTube channel to spend more time with Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin, and the rest of the gang.

As we close the chapter on KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, stay tuned for our next update on the February Community Day featuring Karrablast and Shelmet in Pokémon Go.
