Nintendo enthusiasts, rejoice! The much-anticipated Nintendo San Francisco store is opening its doors today, May 15, at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks the second official Nintendo store in the United States, following the success of the rebranded Nintendo NY, which underwent renovations and reopened in 2016 after being known as the Nintendo World Store.

IGN had the privilege of visiting the San Francisco store to explore what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, we had an exclusive sit-down with Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser, who shared insights on the strategic decision to open their first West Coast store at this time.
