Genshin Impact Update 5.5: New Volcano Area Added

by Daniel Mar 29,2025

As the UK experiences a brief respite from the cold only to return to near-freezing temperatures, and with spring seemingly reluctant to arrive in many places, Genshin Impact's upcoming 5.5 update, "Day of the Flame's Return," set to launch on March 26th, promises to bring the heat you're looking for.

The highlight of this update is the introduction of the Great Volcano of Tollan in Natlan. Players will finally be able to explore the Sacred City of Tollan, an ancient structure built by the Dragonborn. As adventurers delve into its depths, they'll uncover the mystery behind the Flamelord's Blessing.

But it's not just about fiery landscapes; the update also introduces the final tribe of Natlan, the Tribe of Plenty, along with a new Saurian species, the Tatankasaurus. Known for its massive strength, this creature can shatter enormous rocks with its sheer bulk.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Update - Day of the Flame's ReturnNavigating the perilous volcano won't be a solitary endeavor. The 5.5 update introduces two new characters to assist you: Varessa, a five-star Electro Catalyst user who unleashes devastating Electro damage, and Iansan, a four-star Electro Polearm wielder from Natlan's six heroes. Iansan not only boosts attack damage but also heals her allies, making her a valuable addition to any team.

Alongside these exciting additions, the update features a new seasonal event called "Tournament of Glory in Bloom," along with Event Wishes and more, all set to debut on March 26th. Prepare to immerse yourself once again in the vibrant world of Natlan with Genshin Impact's version 5.5, "Day of the Flame's Return."
