Acquiring the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered
The Flare Knife, a vital combat tool, becomes available early in the game. After securing Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. Zakka stocks various weapons and items, including the Flare Knife, priced at 3,000 Entitlement Points.
To equip it, access the Loadout menu via the Personal Responsibility Portal and choose a Combat Items slot. If you’ve purchased a Flare Knife, it will appear in the selection, ready for battle.
Mastering the Flare Knife in Freedom Wars Remastered
The Flare Knife is described as a reusable tool for cutting Abductor parts, allowing players wielding Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons to sever limbs without switching to Light Melee options. However, it’s a single-use item, requiring repurchase before each Operation.
To deploy the Flare Knife, target a severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to maneuver to it. With the Flare Knife in your active slot, a sever option appears. This initiates a quick-time event where you rapidly press a designated button. Successfully depleting the bar severs the part, but beware—Abductors may leap or smash into walls to disrupt you.
In online co-op, repeatedly snaring the Abductor with teammates can simplify severing.
