Fortnite enthusiasts were in for a surprise on August 6 when the highly sought-after Paradigm skin made an unexpected comeback in the game's item shop. Originally launched as a limited-time exclusive during Chapter 1 Season X, this skin had been out of reach for players for five long years.
Players Can Keep the Loot
The sudden reappearance of the Paradigm skin sent the Fortnite community into a frenzy. However, Fortnite quickly acknowledged that the skin's return was "due to a bug" and initially planned to remove it from players' Lockers and issue refunds. Facing significant backlash from the community, the developers made a swift and surprising decision.
Just two hours after their initial announcement, Fortnite took to Twitter to declare that players who had purchased the Paradigm skin during its accidental re-release could keep it. "Bought Paradigm tonight? You can keep her," the developers tweeted. "Her accidental return to the Shop is on us... so if you purchased The Paradigm during this evening's rotation, you can keep this Outfit and we'll refund your V-Bucks soon-ish."
To honor the exclusivity of the original owners, Fortnite committed to creating a unique, new variant of the Paradigm skin exclusively for them.
