The pack introduces the beloved characters: Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. With this new pack, you have the freedom to use these characters in any scenario you desire, without being tied to specific crime scenes or case files. It's a fantastic opportunity to mix and match your favorite 2016 suspects with the newer 2023 cast, creating endless possibilities for your gameplay.
The fanbase for the 2016 version has been vocal about their desire to see these characters return, especially as the newer 2023 characters introduced a more modern feel that not everyone appreciated. In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new game mode called the Retro Rules Set. This mode is a throwback to the original 1949 rules and is available to players for free. The Retro Rules Set reintroduces classic mechanics that alter the way you move and make accusations, adding a layer of nostalgia to your gaming experience.
In this mode, tokens start at designated spots on the board, and Miss Scarlet always makes the first move—unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard takes the lead. Accusations can only be made while in a room, and Clue Cards are omitted entirely. Additionally, you cannot move through squares occupied by other players, bringing a strategic element back to the game.
