Breath of Fire IV, a beloved role-playing game from Capcom, has made a triumphant return to PC, 25 years after its initial launch. Originally released on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, and in Europe a year later, the game saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. This classic title follows the journey of Ryu, a man with the unique ability to transform into a dragon, as he joins forces with other warriors to thwart an emperor's destructive ambitions.
Thanks to GOG's ongoing Preservation Program, Breath of Fire IV has been meticulously updated for modern PCs. This DRM-free release on the GOG platform ensures that fans can enjoy the game with full compatibility for Windows 10 and 11. The enhanced version features both English and Japanese localizations, along with upgraded graphics courtesy of an improved DirectX renderer. New display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction enhance the visual experience. Additionally, the audio engine has been overhauled, bringing back missing environmental sounds and introducing new configuration options for a more immersive gameplay experience.
