Battlefield Community Excited Over Leaked Gameplay, EA Yet to Act

by Lucas Aug 09,2025

Despite players signing NDAs to keep details of EA's upcoming untitled Battlefield game under wraps, footage has surfaced online, with numerous videos and screenshots revealing what participants in the game's closed playtesting have experienced.

As previously noted, the leaks appear to confirm the modern setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield titles. A browse through the Battlefield subreddit showcases intense firefights, destructible environments, and new mechanics like clinging to vehicles and rescuing injured teammates from danger.

Surprisingly, EA has taken minimal action to address the leaks.

Most publishers aggressively protect pre-release footage, as early gameplay often includes incomplete animations, unpolished UI, and rough visuals. However, despite players breaching confidentiality by sharing videos and screenshots, EA has not issued takedown notices.

This could be due to the contrast with Battlefield 2042's mixed reception, as fans appear largely impressed with the leaked content.

"I'm hesitant to say it, but this game is looking incredibly promising. I hope there are no surprises," commented one player, while another noted: "The weapon animations during movement look much smoother than in 2042."

"Even in pre-alpha, the explosions, gunfire, and collapsing buildings are stunning. The potential here is huge!" enthused another fan.

"The sound design and destruction in alpha are already impressive," remarked another.

EA plans to release the next Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026, meaning a launch between April 2025 and March 2026. Following the official reveal last month, we learned the new Battlefield will feature a traditional single-player, linear campaign, a welcome return for fans disappointed by its absence in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.
