Bam Margera, the renowned former professional skateboarder and a key figure in the Jackass franchise, will indeed be featured in the upcoming Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4. This exciting news was revealed by skateboarding media veteran Roger Bagley during a members-only livestream on The Nine Club skateboarding podcast, as reported by Video Games Chronicle.
According to Bagley, the game was essentially complete when Tony Hawk personally reached out to Activision, advocating for Margera's inclusion. Despite initial resistance from the publisher, Hawk's persistence paid off, and Margera is now set to be part of the final roster. IGN has reached out to Activision for further comment on this development.
Margera's journey has been tumultuous, marked by well-documented struggles with alcohol and substance abuse, including multiple rehab stints. He was notably dismissed from the Jackass Forever project and faced legal issues, including a restraining order filed by Jackass director Jeff Tremaine due to alleged threats.
The anticipation for Margera's return to the Tony Hawk series was sparked recently when he and Tony Hawk shared a video of them skateboarding together, hinting at his possible involvement in the game.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is slated for release on July 11, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Developed by Iron Galaxy, this title has overcome significant hurdles, including a near cancellation following the merger of its original developer, Vicarious Visions, with Blizzard.
