Two exciting Pokémon from the Galar region are making their debut in Pokémon Go this month, offering players a mix of sweetness and firepower. During the Sweet Discoveries event, which runs from April 24th to 29th, you can encounter the adorable Dragon/Grass-type Applin for the first time. Evolving Applin into Flapple or Appletun requires 200 Applin Candy and either a Tart Apple or a Sweet Apple, respectively. These apples can be found in the wild, particularly near Mossy Lures, and might even trigger Applin encounters.
During the Sweet Discoveries event, you'll also encounter wild spawns like Bounsweet, Skwovet, and Delibird. Field Research and Eggs will provide additional opportunities to catch themed Pokémon such as Munchlax and Cherubi. Timed Research, available in both free and paid versions, will allow you to earn Sweet and Tart Apples. The paid option also offers extra Mossy Lure Modules and more Applin encounters.
Don't miss out on the Applin-themed items in the shop, such as the Applin Headband and Apron, and participate in PokéStop Showcases featuring event-themed Pokémon. If you're more drawn to power than sweetness, mark your calendar for the Max Battle Weekend on April 26th-27th, where Dynamax Entei will make its fiery entrance. Keep your eyes peeled for a chance to encounter a Shiny Entei.

Several bonuses will enhance your gameplay during both events. You'll enjoy an increased Max Particle cap, reduced adventuring distance to collect them, and boosted Power Spot refresh rates. Additionally, you'll earn eight times more Max Particles from each Power Spot visited. Leading up to the Max Battle Weekend, free Timed Research begins on April 21st, rewarding you with a Dynamax Sobble to counterbalance Entei's fiery prowess.
