Summary
- World of Warcraft players can find Alyx in Dornogal to start a mystery quest for the Detective title.
- Search for 11 missing Celebration Crates with clues from Alyx's board in World of Warcraft.
- Moving Alyx ensures players can still earn the Detective title after the anniversary event.
World of Warcraft has relocated Alyx, the NPC responsible for the Guest Relations mystery questlines from the 20th anniversary celebration, to Dornogal. Here, Alyx continues to accept missing Celebration Crates, allowing players to obtain the coveted Detective title and embark on the quest for the elusive Felcycle mount indefinitely, even though the original Guest Relations questline is no longer accessible.
The 20th anniversary event for World of Warcraft concluded, ending all the special activities, rewards, and buffs that fans enjoyed for nearly three months. The Caverns of Time have reverted to their normal state, with all the NPCs and decorations from the celebration disappearing.
However, Alyx, the NPC central to the Guest Relations mystery questlines, remains. Now stationed at the hot springs northwest of the Delver’s Headquarters in Dornogal, near the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall, Alyx has taken on the new title of "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things." They have also brought along their board of notes, which provides clues to the locations of 11 Celebration Crates hidden around the world. Players who successfully find and return all 11 crates to Alyx can earn the Crate Insurance Agent, No Crate Left Behind, and Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, and crucially, the Detective title. This title is essential for starting the mystery that leads to the Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle mount.
Earning the Detective Title After the WoW Anniversary
- Locate Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei NPC, and their board of clues in Dornogal.
- Alyx is situated between the Delver’s Headquarters and the stairs leading to the Foundation Hall.
- Use the clues on the board to find the 11 missing Celebration Crates in World of Warcraft.
- Players need to be at least level 10 to start the Celebration Crate quests, but must reach level 68 to access Dornogal.
- Return six crates to Alyx to earn the Crate Insurance Agent achievement, and all 11 crates to secure the No Crate Left Behind, Azeroth’s Greatest Detective achievements, and the Detective title.
Previously, it was unclear whether players could pursue the Incognitro secret quests post-anniversary, as the Detective title is necessary to initiate the mystery with the Dalaran Survivor in Dornogal. By relocating Alyx to Dornogal and allowing the indefinite submission of Celebration Crates, Blizzard ensures that no player will be permanently excluded from obtaining this rare mount.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Guest Relations quests from WoW's 20th anniversary are no longer available, as they were heavily tied to the event grounds. This means that achievements like Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager and I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats, along with their associated Thinking Cap transmogs, are now unobtainable. While it's unlikely that World of Warcraft will revive this specific storyline, the game may introduce alternative methods to earn these rewards in the future.
