Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime Opening Trailer, Hints at Multi-Season Arc
Following the announcement of its premiere date, Netflix dropped the opening trailer for its upcoming Devil May Cry anime adaptation. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the enigmatic White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his creative vision. The series, set in the late 90s and early 2000s, will feature a soundtrack reflecting that era's musical landscape. Beyond Limp Bizkit, expect other period-defining tracks, along with a synthwave remix of the game's original score by Power Glove.
Shankar further hinted at a multi-season plan, stating that future seasons will boast distinct visual styles and soundtracks to capture the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games.
While plot specifics remain under wraps, the first season is rumored to adapt elements from the Devil May Cry 3 manga, Code 1: Dante, focusing on a young Dante's investigation into a child's disappearance. This investigation will reportedly force him to confront his past, family, and his demonic father Sparda's legacy.
The eight-episode first season is slated to premiere on April 3, 2025.
