Pokemon GO has announced an exciting new Shadow Raid Day featuring Ho-Oh, set for January 19, 2025. This event marks the first of its kind in the new year, offering trainers a fresh opportunity to capture one of the most formidable Fire-type Pokemon in the game.

Introduced in 2023, Shadow Raids have provided Pokemon GO players with a thrilling new way to obtain Shadow variants by defeating Team GO Rocket. The previous year was packed with engaging events, including the return of Shadow Moltres in January and Shadow Mewtwo in August. Shadow Moltres, a Legendary Bird from Kanto, was added in 2020, while Shadow Mewtwo debuted at Pokemon GO Fest the same year. Now, players should mark their calendars for the return of another powerful creature.

Shadow Ho-Oh will be the star of Pokemon GO's upcoming Shadow Raid Day, taking place on January 19 from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. During this window, Ho-Oh will appear in five-star raids, with an increased chance of encountering a shiny Shadow Ho-Oh. Players can earn up to five free Pokemon GO Raid Passes by spinning gyms, with the limit increasing to seven. Additionally, they can use a Charged TM to teach Ho-Oh the Charged Attack Sacred Fire, a powerful move with 130 power in trainer battles and 120 power in raids and gyms.
