Will R.E.P.O come to consoles?

*R.E.P.O.*, the thrilling co-op horror game that hit the scene in February, has captured the hearts of over 200,000 PC gamers. As fans clamor for more, a burning question arises: Will *R.E.P.O.* make its way to consoles? Here’s the latest scoop on that front.

Is R.E.P.O. Coming to Consoles?

As of now, *R.E.P.O.* remains a PC-exclusive title, with no confirmed plans for a console release. The game's developer, semiwork, has been tight-lipped about any potential console port, focusing instead on refining the game's multiplayer experience. They're currently grappling with a significant challenge: enhancing the multiplayer mechanics while keeping the game free from hackers.

"The main issue with matchmaking lobbies is hackers. But the issue with an anti-cheat system is that you’re ruining the experience for everyone who has made mods, because mods don’t work with an anti-cheat system. And we don’t want that," the developer explained in a statement to PCGamer. This dilemma must be resolved before any thoughts of a console version can even be entertained.

While other PC-only games like *Mouthwashing* have successfully transitioned to consoles, it's worth noting that *Mouthwashing* is a single-player game, which simplifies the porting process. Similarly themed games such as *Lethal Company* and *Content Warning*, which also involve sneaking past monsters, have stayed PC-exclusive. Last year, the developers of *Content Warning* hinted at a possible console release but cited technical difficulties as a barrier. Since then, there's been no further word on a console version.

So, to answer the question of whether *R.E.P.O.* will come to consoles, it appears that semiwork is not currently considering a port and is instead dedicated to perfecting the multiplayer aspects of the PC version.
