This event invites you to participate in shaping your world by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform, which can lead to new PokéStops and Gyms in Pokémon Go.
The Wayfarer Challenge is scheduled to run from March 7th to 9th in Chile, and from March 10th to 12th in India. During these dates, you're encouraged to nominate real-world locations like landmarks, sculptures, and street art to be transformed into PokéStops and Gyms. By engaging in the review process, you contribute to reaching community milestones that unlock fantastic rewards.
If the community successfully resolves 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. The rewards escalate if the community achieves 10,000 approvals, granting 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To join the Wayfarer Challenge, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and have a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before diving into the nomination reviews. Additionally, you must have recently played in Chile or India or have your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location set to one of these countries. To be eligible for the rewards, you need to review at least 50 nominations, and at least one milestone must be achieved.
Running concurrently with the Wayfarer Challenge, the PokéStop Challenge event will take place from March 9th to 12th, also exclusive to Chile and India. During this event, exploring newly added PokéStops will earn you triple XP for your first visit, triple Stardust from opening Gifts, and increased chances of encountering Kecleon. Event-specific Field Research tasks will offer encounters with Eevee, while Timed Research provides opportunities to catch other Pokémon.
