Guns Undarkness Steam Demo Announcement

Guns Undarkness Demo Launches at Steam Next Fest

The highly anticipated Guns Undarkness will debut a free demo at the upcoming Steam Next Fest. This exciting project unites the talents of Shoji Meguro (Persona series and Metaphor: ReFantazio composer), Ilya Kuvshinov (Ghost in the Shell character artist), and rapper Lotus Juice (known for his work on Persona 3).

Meguro, a veteran composer at Atlus since 1995, has contributed to iconic titles like Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series. He transitioned to indie development in 2021 while continuing collaborations with Atlus. Guns Undarkness, a sci-fi stealth action JRPG, is published by Kodansha Game Creators Lab.

Initially unveiled at Indie Live Expo Winter 2021 and successfully funded via Kickstarter in 2022, Guns Undarkness will offer a free demo starting February 24th, 2025, during Steam Next Fest. Early Access is planned for later this year.

Inspired by Metal Gear Solid and Persona

Guns Undarkness blends turn-based tactical combat with stealth mechanics, drawing inspiration from Metal Gear Solid and the Persona series. The game is set in a dystopian 2045, where players assume the role of a private military company operative, embarking on missions to uncover the world's secrets and avert a catastrophic future.

Gameplay seamlessly integrates stealth and combat. Successful stealth maneuvers grant tactical advantages during turn-based battles, utilizing diverse firearms and strategic character commands.

The demo provides approximately 20 minutes of gameplay, encompassing tutorials covering controls, the battle system, weaponry, and early-game strategies. The Early Access release, anticipated for Spring 2025, will offer around 10 hours of gameplay on PC. A precise release date remains unannounced.
