One such resource is Dented Plates, which are required in large quantities for many upgrades. While they may seem plentiful, efficiently farming them is key to amassing the quantities needed for your upgrades.
Where To Farm Dented Plates In NieR: Automata
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by the following machine types:
- Small Biped (All Variants)
- Small Flyer (All Variants)
- Small Sphere (All Variants)
These basic enemies are the most frequently encountered throughout your playthroughs and chapter revisits. However, simply respawning enemies by fast traveling and roaming around isn’t the most effective way to gather materials quickly. The optimal location for farming Dented Plates is the pit where you initially battle Adam during the story.
Fast-travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point, proceed deeper into the ruins, and descend to the pit. Here, machines will continuously spawn as you eliminate them, with numerous basic Bipeds being the predominant enemy type. Even if these enemies are at a lower level when you farm this material, they still have a good chance of dropping Dented Plates. This location is also excellent for farming Titanium Alloy if you need it.
If you prefer not to farm in a single spot, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of Bipeds that fight in a phalanx formation with spears. These groups typically drop at least one Dented Plate among the many Bipeds. Traversing the forest can also lead you to encounters with wildlife, which is perfect for obtaining Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds have a higher chance of dropping Dented Plates, so progressing through the story will not only increase your encounters with Bipeds but also expose you to higher-level ones, thereby improving your chances of obtaining more Dented Plates.
To further enhance your farming efficiency, consider equipping drop-rate up plug-in chips to boost the likelihood of obtaining Dented Plates. Just be cautious not to die and lose your chips permanently.
