Get Ready for the Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Test!
Following several Closed Alpha tests, Splitgate 2 is opening its doors to all players with an Open Alpha Test. This follows a surprise reveal during February's PlayStation State of Play.
When and How to Join:
The Open Alpha Test begins February 27th, 2025, and concludes March 2nd, 2025, on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. To participate:
- On February 27th, visit your preferred digital storefront (Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store).
- Search for "Splitgate 2".
- Download the Crossplay Alpha Test.
What Awaits You:
The Open Alpha will showcase the game's core cross-play functionality and introduce the thrilling new "Multi-Team Portal Warfare" mode. This mode pits three teams of eight players against each other on Splitgate's largest map yet. Expect new weapons, perks, and equipment alongside the signature portal mechanics that defined the original.
While new character classes (or factions) with unique abilities are planned, the core gameplay revolves around the innovative portal system. Developer 1047 Games emphasizes that player feedback has significantly shaped Splitgate 2's development, aiming to create a landmark experience in the FPS genre.
