The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will feature distinct pricing strategies for Japan and the rest of the world. This innovative gaming console will come in two versions: a Japanese-language system exclusive to Japan and a Multi-Language System for global markets. The Japanese version is set to retail at approximately $330, whereas the Multi-Language System version will be priced at $449.99, marking a significant $100+ price difference. This pricing disparity can be attributed to the weaker yen against the USD, which impacts the cost for tourists buying products in Japan.
For gamers in Japan, both versions will be available for purchase. However, the Japanese-language system version is strictly for sale within Japan and requires a Nintendo Account set to the Japanese region. This version supports only the Japanese language and is compatible solely with software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop. On the other hand, Nintendo recommends the Multi-Language System version for those who prefer gaming in multiple languages, with more details on this version to be disclosed on April 4.
