Exciting new developments have emerged for the much-anticipated The Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris, with fresh images, detailed insights, and a construction start date set for Fall 2025. According to the Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King, poised to become a major attraction within the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World.
The new water ride promises an immersive journey through the iconic moments of the 1994 classic film. Guests will be treated to a thrilling experience that includes a 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches. A highlight of the ride will be a scene featuring Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment, as seen in the newly released concept image above.
The Lion King-themed land will also feature a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock and offer a variety of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences. While an exact opening date for the ride hasn't been announced, it is slated to open following the debut of World of Frozen in 2026, as part of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
Disney Adventure World will also introduce other exciting attractions, including the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction themed around Up. This new "spinning carousel" will provide guests with breathtaking views of the park's scenic landscape.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, aims to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will house theaters showcasing performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
