Hyper Light Breaker Character Guide: Unlockable Breakers and Playstyles
Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique playstyles. Unlocking new characters requires Abyss Stones, obtained by defeating Crowns (bosses). This guide covers the early access characters and their unlock methods.
How to Unlock New Characters
To unlock new Breakers:
- Find Prisms: Locate Prisms (golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas.
- Defeat Crowns: Defeat the Crowns (bosses) to earn Abyss Stones.
- Unlock at the Outpost: Return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter and select the Breaker you wish to unlock using your Abyss Stones.
Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method. Future updates may alter this process.
All Characters and Their SyComs
Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, significantly impacting their playstyle.
Vermillion:
- Default SyCom: Gunslinger: Favors ranged combat; critical hits guarantee a subsequent critical hit.
- Unlockable SyCom: Tank: Rewards perfect parries with increased armor; boasts better defensive and melee stats.
Lapis:
- Default SyCom: Lightweaver: Increases Rail shot damage after collecting a Battery.
- Unlockable SyCom: Warrior: Boosts core stats with each upgrade, making her exceptionally powerful late-game.
Goro:
- Default SyCom: Astrologer: Accelerates Blade skill charge while shooting.
- Unlockable SyCom: Sniper: Significantly increases critical hit rate. High damage output but lacks defensive capabilities.
