Equipping the Torch in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To equip your torch, first open your inventory and select a pouch. Choose the torch and equip it, then exit your inventory screen. On console, hold down the d-pad to make Henry raise the torch; PC players can press the R key instead.
Your inventory will display a red shield icon next to the torch when properly equipped. Remember that torches gradually burn out - always carry spares for these situations.
While you can simultaneously wield both a weapon and torch, this only works with one-handed weapons. Two-handed weapons and shields cannot be used alongside your torch.
Why Torches Are Essential
Beyond illuminating dark environments, torches serve a legal purpose - Bohemian law requires citizens to carry light sources during nighttime. Guards will pursue and question anyone caught without one, demanding bribes or making arrests.
Villagers also become more reluctant to interact with unlit strangers after dark.
Obtaining Torches
Purchase torches from general merchants in towns, or find them among battlefield loot and storage chests throughout the countryside.
