Alkimia Interactive, the developer behind the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, has provided select journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally intended for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.
This demo offers a glimpse into the full game, featuring a new protagonist, Niras, rather than the original Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, arrives in the Miners' Valley, interacting with its inhabitants and setting the stage for the game's overarching story.
A previous, Gamescom 2024 exclusive prologue demo, also featuring Niras' arrival and introduction to the Colony's harsh realities, will soon be released for public access. This allows players a chance to explore the significantly overhauled world of Gothic. Both this demo and the final game are nearly entirely rebuilt, promising extended gameplay, enhanced orc interactions, and increased immersion. Expect a considerably richer and more engaging experience than the original.
The latest Gothic 1 Remake demo will debut on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be free to play from the evening of February 24th until the evening of March 3rd. Following this period, access will be revoked. The full Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release later this year on PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
