Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, a thrilling update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, offering a fresh and stylish twist to the gameplay.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation.Blog, Sony outlined the extensive celebration for the 20th anniversary of the God of War series, with the Dark Odyssey update being a standout feature. Available as a free update on March 20, this collection will be accessible to all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The Dark Odyssey collection boasts a sleek, black-and-gold aesthetic, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos and his companions as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Both Atreus and Freya will receive their own unique cosmetic sets, alongside a variety of new appearances for the player's shields and weapons.
The highlight of the update is undoubtedly the Dark Odyssey appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a legendary skin from God of War 2 that was previously exclusive to players who conquered the game on God Mode difficulty. This coveted set can be obtained from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode upon the update's release. Additionally, the update will introduce the long-awaited feature of customizing Kratos' weapons' appearances without impacting their abilities.
