Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion centered on nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a revolutionary governance system specifically designed for nomadic gameplay. A new in-game currency, "herd," will be central to a ruler's authority, influencing military might, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core game mechanics.
The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant migration. A chieftain's movements will be dynamically determined by interactions with settled populations – either through negotiation or forceful displacement.
Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, similar to adventurer camps. These yurts can be upgraded with various components offering unique advantages.
The expansion will also feature iconic, mobile yurt towns that nomadic kings transport, mirroring the functionality of adventurer camps. These settlements can be enhanced with additional structures, each providing distinct benefits.
