Fans of The Last of Us series were still reeling from Neil Druckmann's recent statement suggesting that a new game might not be in the works when a ray of hope emerged. Insider Daniel Richtman has stirred excitement by claiming that not only is the next installment in development, but it has already cast its actors and filmed some scenes.

Druckmann's earlier comments about there being "no next The Last of Us" could be interpreted in several ways. It's possible he was referring to a sequel already in the pipeline. Moreover, this isn't the first time Druckmann has made such statements; similar remarks preceded the announcement of The Last of Us Part II. However, it's worth noting that Richtman has a history of leaks that didn't pan out.
Despite the uncertainty, it's clear that a concept for a new The Last of Us game does exist. As for any official announcements or further news, Naughty Dog might be holding back to keep the spotlight on their upcoming new IP, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
