Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each comprising players seated opposite one another. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. The objective is for each player to estimate the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" initiates a "paper throwing" phase. They throw a type of paper onto the floor; other players must then throw the same type. The player who successfully matches the paper type wins the "Bamh." However, "Tarneeb" papers are superior; a "Tarneeb" paper wins unless a stronger "Tarneeb" paper is played. The round concludes when all players have discarded.
Point accounting is crucial. A team's bid must be met or exceeded to gain points. Success adds the number of "Allmat" won to their score; failure deducts this amount and adds the opponent's "Allmat" to their score.
Achieving 13 "Allmat" without bidding for 13 awards 16 points; successfully bidding and achieving 13 awards 26 points. Failure to achieve a bid of 13 results in a 16-point deduction.
The game ends when a team reaches a cumulative score of 41 or more, declaring that team the victor.
