After two failed launches and months of anticipation, Rune Slayer has arrived, and it's fantastic! While incredibly fun, the game has a steep learning curve, especially for MMORPG newcomers. Fear not, this guide will help you conquer your Rune Slayer journey.

Here are some crucial tips we wish we'd known starting out:
Don't Randomly Attack Other Players
Screenshot by The EscapistInitially, Rune Slayer's full-loot PvP worried us. Surprisingly, it's not a constant bloodbath. Death doesn't mean losing your gear—you simply respawn. However, attacking players earns you a bounty. The more kills, the larger your bounty, and the more loot you drop upon your own death. Essentially, full-loot PvP is self-inflicted. Unless you're strategically ganking with friends, avoid unprovoked player attacks.
Craft Bags Immediately
Screenshot by The EscapistInventory and bank space are severely limited. While 50 slots might seem ample, they fill rapidly. Thankfully, you can craft bags! Equip up to two; the initial Cotton Bag adds 10 slots. Find Cotton north of Wayshire and Flax south (beware of tougher mobs there). Craft these bags immediately!
Your Pets Don't Actually Die
Screenshot by The EscapistContrary to belief, pets don't perish when their health reaches zero. They become unavailable for five minutes. Check the cooldown by holding T. After five minutes, resummon your pet using T. Bonus: Quickly heal your pet by storing and retrieving it at the stable master (you have one free slot).
Accept Every Quest
Screenshot by The EscapistRune Slayer boasts a plethora of quests, mostly unremarkable "kill X" tasks. To streamline, accept every quest you encounter, including those from the job board. Often, quests can be combined, making progress much more efficient.
Craft Everything at Least Once
Screenshot by The EscapistPrioritize crafting necessities, but use spare materials to experiment. Initial crafting often unlocks new, superior recipes. For instance, smelting Iron Ore unlocked better Iron Armor for us. Don't hoard materials; craft away!
Join a Guild
Rune Slayer is solo-friendly, but tougher enemies require teamwork. Guilds provide the easiest way to find groups, especially for challenging high-health bosses. Use general chat or the official Rune Slayer Discord server to find a guild and tackle challenging content together.
That's it! Enjoy Rune Slayer! For further assistance, check out the Rune Slayer Trello and Discord.
