A PlayStation blog post featured an image celebrating PlayStation's 30th anniversary. Within this image, a console design remarkably similar to leaked PS5 Pro renders was spotted by a perceptive fan. This subtle inclusion has ignited speculation about an imminent PS5 Pro announcement. The timing suggests a possible reveal at the end of the month, although Sony hasn't officially confirmed a State of Play event.
Sony is currently celebrating PlayStation's 30th anniversary with various promotions. These include a free Gran Turismo 7 trial, digital soundtracks from classic PlayStation games, and the upcoming "Shapes of Play" collection. The "Shapes of Play" collection will launch in December 2024 via direct.playstation.com in select regions (US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Benelux).
Furthermore, a free online multiplayer weekend and esports tournaments are planned for September 21st and 22nd. Sony has announced that online multiplayer will be available for owned games on PS5 and PS4 consoles without a PlayStation Plus subscription during this period, with further details to be released soon.
