In Pokémon TCG Pocket, Sleep is a debilitating status condition. This guide explains what Sleep does, how to cure it, and which cards inflict it.
What is Sleep?
Sleep renders a Pokémon unable to attack, use abilities, or retreat. Essentially, a sleeping Pokémon is a vulnerable target.
Curing Sleep
There are two primary methods:
- Coin Toss: Each turn, a coin toss determines if the Pokémon wakes up. This is a chance-based cure.
- Evolution: Evolving a sleeping Pokémon cures the Sleep status.
A less common method involves the Koga Trainer card, which returns a sleeping Weezing or Muk to your hand.

Hypno's Strategic Advantage
Hypno stands out due to its ability to inflict Sleep from the bench, making it a powerful support card for Psychic decks, particularly alongside Pokémon like Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir. While other Sleep-inducing cards exist, Hypno's efficiency currently makes it a meta-defining card.
